Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs
Artificial food coloring can overload our already compromised system. According to current research, it is estimated that 5%-10% of kiddos with ADHD may be sensitive to synthetic food coloring, even children without neurodevelopmental disorders can be highly sensitive to food dyes. This can manifest itself in meltdowns, hyperactivity, irritability, and other behavioral problems in some children as these dyes interfere with the functioning of the nervous system. This Easter, consider swapping synthetic food coloring for natural ingredients found right in your kitchen- it makes for a fun science experiment and creative activity for your kiddos while avoiding using chemicals that can penetrate the eggshell and enter the egg white and yolk.
Directions:
Add one cup water per 1 cup dye matter and boil.
